Daemons of the Shadow Realm is one of the most anticipated fantasy anime of 2026, bringing Hiromu Arakawa’s manga to television with a dark, mysterious, and adventure-driven tone. Also known by its Japanese title Yomi no Tsugai, the story follows twins Yuru and Asa, who are connected to a hidden supernatural system involving powerful daemons, village secrets, and a birthright that places them at the center of a much larger conflict. Yuru lives a quiet life in a remote mountain village, while Asa is locked away and forced to carry out an unexplained duty, creating a setup that immediately suggests both mystery and tragedy. When armed assailants attack the village, Yuru is dragged into a violent struggle that exposes the truth behind his family, his sister, and the strange powers surrounding them. The anime adaptation premiered in April 2026 and is produced by Bones Film. Because the series combines action, supernatural lore, sibling bonds, and hidden-world mythology, it is an excellent subject for a quiz. Fans can be tested on Yuru, Asa, daemons, the village, the stone guardians, and the many secrets driving the plot. It is also highly searchable because viewers look for Daemons of the Shadow Realm quiz, Yuru trivia, Asa quiz, and Yomi no Tsugai questions. That combination of mystery and fantasy makes it ideal for a high-quality anime quiz format.

A strong quiz about Daemons of the Shadow Realm should begin with the premise, because the entire story is built on the mystery of the twins and their unusual role in the world. Yuru and Asa are known as “the children who sunder day and night,” a phrase that highlights their importance to the series’ central mythology. In the story’s opening setup, Yuru lives in a mountain village and works as a hunter, while Asa is kept in a cage and assigned a mysterious duty that separates her from ordinary life. Their peaceful existence is shattered when an attack comes from the outside, forcing Yuru to flee and begin uncovering the truth behind his origins and the daemons tied to his birthright. The anime adaptation premiered on April 4, 2026, and it is planned to run for two consecutive cours. It is directed by Masahiro Andō at Bones Film, with Noboru Takagi handling series scripts and Nobuhiro Arai designing the characters. Crunchyroll streams the series, and the manga is published in English by Square Enix Manga & Books. The opening theme is “Tobu Toki” by Vaundy, while the ending theme is “Tobō yo” by yama. What makes Daemons of the Shadow Realm especially rich for trivia is how naturally it blends action, mythology, and sibling drama. The daemons are central to the series’ identity, giving the world a supernatural structure that can be used for both easy and difficult quiz questions. The story’s village setting also matters a great deal, since its stone guardians, strict social rules, and hidden rituals create a strong atmosphere of mystery. Yuru’s journey is compelling because he begins as a relatively ordinary mountain boy and is forced into a much larger conflict once the attack on the village reveals that his life has been built on secrets. Asa adds another layer of intrigue because she is both separated from Yuru and deeply connected to the truth of their existence. The series is adapted from Hiromu Arakawa’s manga, which already carries a strong reputation for detailed worldbuilding and character-driven storytelling. That reputation carries over into the anime, making it a solid choice for both casual fans and deep-dive quiz audiences. Since the first season is structured across two cours, there is enough material for episode-based trivia as well as lore-based questions. A well-designed quiz can cover the twins, their daemons, the village, the attack, and the larger supernatural birthright that defines the series.
