Ajith Kumar is one of Tamil cinema’s most admired stars, known for his intense performances, minimal publicity, and an unwaveringly loyal fanbase. Often called “Thala” by his followers, he has built a unique persona that combines mass appeal with humility and a fiercely private off‑screen life. His journey from romantic dramas to hard‑hitting action films and character‑driven stories has made him a central figure in modern Tamil cinema. For fans, every Ajith release is more than just a film—it’s an event.

Ajith’s rise to stardom came through a mix of romance, drama, and action that showcased his range and screen presence. After early recognition in films like Aasai, he became a favourite in romantic and emotional dramas with titles such as Kadhal Kottai, Kadhal Mannan, and Amarkalam, where his understated style and intensity stood out. As his career progressed, he took on more complex roles in films like Vaali and Villain, playing dual characters and morally conflicted men, which further cemented his reputation as a powerful performer.

The stylish reboot Billa reintroduced him as a sleek, suited don, redefining his mass image for a new era with slick action and cool attitude. From there, he leaned deeper into high‑voltage entertainers like Mankatha, where he embraced a full‑blown grey-shaded, unapologetic character that quickly became a fan favourite. Films such as Varalaru, Arrambam, Veeram, Vedalam, and Yennai Arindhaal continued to build his legacy across family dramas, slick thrillers, and rural mass stories, proving that he could command the screen in a variety of settings and character types.

In recent years, Ajith has carried his mass hero status into big‑scale, festival‑friendly blockbusters. Viswasam struck a chord with its blend of rural flavour, emotion, and action, presenting him as a protective father and respected village figure. Nerkonda Paarvai showcased his serious side in a socially conscious courtroom drama, while Valimai and Thunivu pushed him further into high‑octane action territory with bike chases, heists, and larger‑than‑life set pieces tailored for the big screen.

Beyond cinema, Ajith is widely respected for his passion for motorsports and racing, having participated in professional racing events in India and abroad. He is equally known for his low‑profile, grounded public persona, preferring to let his work speak rather than engaging heavily in media or social‑media promotion. This combination of mystery, discipline, and high‑impact performances has only deepened his aura among fans. This quiz explores his biggest films, landmark roles, racing passion, and the fan culture that has made “Thala” an enduring icon of Tamil cinema.
